Little more about West region in Bulgaria
West Bulgaria is situated around the feet of the following mountains: Vitosha, South Pelin, Kojuh and Stara Planina. They are crossed by the rivers Struma, German, Svetlia, Erma and many others. In this part of the country is also the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia, which is the main administrative, industrial and transport center. It is the biggest Bulgarian city, with a population of 1 376 742 people. Sofia is divided into 24 districts and the climate is temperate. West Bulgaria includes also other big cities like Pernik, Blagoevgrad, Kjustendil, famous with their glorious past, as well as still carrying the marks of the difficult years
